Charged with stealing cash deposits, forging checks, payroll fraud and misuse of doctor’s credit cards

Mar-19-19, CANFIELD, Ohio -The Austintown woman accused of embezzling $182,000 from a Canfield doctor’s office was in court Tuesday.

Amanda Hahn appeared in a Canfield courtroom where she pleaded not guilty to one count each of forgery and aggravated theft.  Because she’s cooperated with detectives and by the victim’s request, she was released on her own recognizance after being booked at Canfield PD.

Police say Hahn stole more than $182,176 while working as the manager at Dr. Gregory Zinni’s office on 224.

This investigation started back on January 15th when detectives got a tip about the alleged theft.

The initial complaint says Hahn allegedly embezzled that money through stolen cash deposits, forged checks, fraudulent payroll amounts and misuse of credit cards.

Police believe the alleged thefts happened between 2015 and last year.

Dr. Zinni and his lawyer didn’t want to go on camera to comment, but told 21 News he just wants justice.

Zinni says after having such a close working relationship with Hahn for many years, this alleged crime is a “shot in the gut”.

He and his family – who were in the courtroom – say they didn’t want Hahn to serve time, only to pay back that money in restitution.

Hahn herself will be back in court at a future date – possibly April 19th.
